Responsibilities of the Infection Control Department

• Surveillance and prevention of hospital-acquired infections (HAIs)
• Monitoring sterilization and disinfection practices across units
• Antibiotic stewardship support for rational drug use
• Immunization programs for staff and high-risk patients (if applicable)
• Staff training on PPE use, hand hygiene and infection-prevention protocols
• Outbreak management and root-cause assessment in case of infection clusters
